HERE YOU WILL FIND TRANSCRIPTS OF THE ACTUAL NEWSLETTERS FROM THE U.S.S. WASHINGTON.

These newsletters reflect the life and times of those men that sailed the "Mighty W." They were published weekly when battle conditions allowed. Shipmates could send these newletters home after reading them. A space was provided on the back page for an address.

For the purpose of security during war time, certain regulations had to be maintained. For more information on mail censorship of the Cougar Scream, see the article on 13 December 1941.
