This is a photo of Mr. Galligan’s model. It was taken before it was fitted out with her Radar Fire Control Director’s. She was set up at the time for Radio Control. She had seven channels 1-Main Battery, 2-Train & elevate, 3-Port & starboard speed control, 4-catapults, 5-sound system (score from Victory at Sea), 6-Working Scuppers, and 7-Lights.
This model was displayed and sailed at the 1989 USS Washington BB56 Reunion in Reno, Nevada at the Sands Hotel swimming Pool. Admiral Harvey Walsh took the Conn. and placed a chip in the port bow. Currently, Mr. Galligan’s model can be seen at the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, Berth 84, Foot of 6th Street in San Pedro, California. Museum Phone: 310-548-7618 |
